Hello, My name is E. Steve Kirris. I am married and a father of seven the youngest of which is five. I was involved in a serious auto accident about five years ago. After 23 hours of surgery with 8 surgeons at the Mayo Clinic in MN. I survived but has an amputee paraplegic, with a spinal cord injury. I am not a quiter though and am trying the best I can to be here for my family and community. I have had a fear of driving since my accident but have decided that I need to overcome this and once again become a useful member of my town. I am starting a small computer repair business that I can run from my home but need to be able to drive to pick up and deliver computers that I will be working on. I am in need of a handicapped equipted van. Has anyone who has ever gone through the kind of experience will tell you it will leave you totally broke, so we can't just buy one and yesc need help. I have been told that the US Government has a program in which they will make the payments on a handicapped equipted van for me has long has I am working and can prove income, at the end of which you own the vehicle. However I cannot seem to find my way through all the different government programs out there. If anyone can help me it would surely be appreciated or if anyone would know of any other way I might be able to acquire a vehicle. This isn't just to work, my self esteem has fallen through the floors since this accident and I am fighting to get it and my self respect back on track for my family, friends and yes myself too. Feel free to contact me at familykirris@hotmail.com with any and all herlp. Thankfully Yours E. Steve Kirris
